"Changing Lives...Transforming Communities"

Training Leaders

Investing in the lives of people, especially those who will improve themselves and pass on what they have learned to others, is necessary if our communities, our country, and our world are to change.  We feel called to mentor and train the next generation of young people, especially those who are struggling to finish school, graduate and figure plan out their futures.  Often times these students don’t have parents or other adults who support them at home or other adults they can turn to for support and care.  In addition, many of these students who are on the verge of dropping out do not even know the options available to them in the future much less how to pursue making college not just a dream but a reality.

We also feel burdened to invest in the lives of spiritual leaders from other countries who make their way to the United States.  We believe that they will do a better job of reaching people from their region of the world and who speak their language than we ever could.  Therefore, training these men and women of God, strategizing with them, and then supporting them as they minister to serve others is an exciting and necessary part of what we do.  There are more people coming to the U.S. and people coming from more countries in the world than ever before.  Immigrants and refugees from more than 65 countries now called DFW home.  Adjusting to life in the United States is difficult, especially if one does not speak English or has never lived outside of a refugee camp.  This provides us with plentiful opportunities to offer care, support, and practical help to our neighbors in the name of Jesus.  Who better to build relationships with the people coming to our cities than people who have been here and are from the same country or part of the world?

Training leaders happens in two very distinct and important ways at LINC NT.  The first happens every otheron  Fridays in the classroom at several public middle schools in the DFW area.  LINC staff members and volunteers teach leadership training and character development and offer training to parents through the Student Advancement Leadership Initiative (SALI).  This is one of our most strategic programs for building relationships and investing in the lives of students and their families, because of the consistent contact we have with them throughout the year.

The second way that we invest in leaders is through our Mission Training Center.  Please click here to read more about the weekly training classes offered to ethnically diverse spiritual leaders who are committed to reaching people from other countries living among us with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
