"Changing Lives...Transforming Communities"

Developing Families Spiritually

As we get to know students, families, and neighbors, we are burdened to see them grow and develop in every area of their lives, including their spiritual life.  Because every family and community is unique, our means of connecting them with a relationship, a small group, or a church that serves and develops them spiritually is different.  Even though different strategies are used, one thing is consistent:.  We work through and with the local faith community.  In every community that we enter, we either partner with an existing church or plant a new one in an effort to make sure that a local spiritual family is there to support and encourage.

In every middle school that we work in, we offer some sort of regular youth gathering or after school bible group.  Sometimes these groups are official, school-sponsored clubs and sometimes they are more like youth groups meeting off campus somewhere.  The point of these groups is to introduce students to a real and genuine spiritual life, if they don’t already know Him and mentor them if they do.  These groups also offer students a sense of camaraderie and are a lot of fun.  In much the same way, through this program, parents are invited to join a parent support group which links them with others who are dealing with the same issues.  Because these groups come together around a specific school, this means that parents are connected to one another because their children are the same age and they live in the same area.
