"May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants.

May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace."
     -Psalms 144:12

Can you imagine trying to find a job without a high school diploma? How would that limit your opportunities? A large portion of minorities are dropping out in DISD. LINC North Texas is committed to changing this pattern. We are excited about a new opportunity to make a difference in teenagers' and their families' lives in North Texas. In partnership with Otra Onda ministries, LINC NT has been given the go ahead to teach Biblical values, character and purpose in public schools in the Dallas area.

Starting in January 2010, Pastor Oscar Benavides and his wife Jen will be teaching a hundred students at Ted Polk Middle School once a week. Missionaries Allison Schlack and Ashley Forseth will teach a hundred students at Dewitt Perry Middle School once a week as well. They will be teaching a curriculum that will inspire students to discover their purpose in life, internalize values that will help them stay in school and strengthen their families. Our LINC staff and Otra Onda will also be meeting with the students' parents at least twice during the semester to train them in "Parenting Values and Skills". The long-term goal is to launch a multi-ethnic ministry in Carrollton/Farmers Branch.
