 Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 7am-7pm

Get Up and Give! North Texas Giving Day 2010 is a day for you to go to your computer and give to LINC North Texas!

Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, nonprofits with an approved DonorBridge profile will receive matching funds when donations are made online through DonorBridge.

This helps your gifts go farther!

CLICK HERE to go to LINC NT's DonorBridge Profile,

any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to donate.

You can donate as much as you want!

The only requirement is a minimum donation of $25 for your gift to receive matching funds.

MORE INFORMATION:

You don’t need a login to  make donations. However, DonorBridge  encourages you to sign up for a DonorBridge login, as it will give you access to more information on the nonprofits’ profiles. Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation donors can use their existing logins on DonorBridge to make grant recommendation from donor-advised funds.

Gifts made on Giving Day will be processed through the Communities Foundation of Texas. Donations will appear on credit card statements as being payable to “CFTexas.” Donors will receive an acknowledgement email that includes an official gift substantiation/tax receipt. The nonprofit will be notified and given your contact information, unless you request to remain anonymous. If you do not receive an email receipt, please contact CFT directly at donorservices@cftexas.org, and we’ll provide another copy.

That’s it! Simply remember to Get Up and Give on September 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

MATCHING FUNDS:

The matching funds available are double that of last year! There is $700,000 in matching dollars for 2010 North Texas Giving Day. The lead gift for the fund is from Communities Foundation of Texas, whose board committed $500,000 for this vent.

  1. The single nonprofit organization that receives the largest cumulative dollar amount in donations.  Prize = $10,000
  2.  Greatest number of individual donors for a nonprofit organization with an operating budget under $1,000,000. Prize = $10,000
  3. Greatest number of individual donors for a nonprofit organization with an operating budget over $1,000,000. Prize = $10,000
  4. The nonprofit organization that receives the 1,929th donation. Prize = $10,000
  5. The nonprofit organization that receives the 2,010th donation. Prize = $10,000

Matching money is not a straight “dollar for dollar” match. Matching funds will be determined by taking the total matching funds available as of Giving Day and dividing the total amount of donations from the day, to determine the percentage by which each donation will be matched. This ensures all nonprofits receive matching funds!

Gifts and grants made on Giving Day will be processed through the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT). Donations will appear on credit card statements as being payable to “CFTexas.”  There is no charge to the nonprofit or the donor for participating in Giving Day. However, donations made by credit card will be subject to a 2.95% processing fee. Every penny of the credit processing fee goes to the credit processing company.  Neither the Communities Foundation of Texas, The Dallas Foundation nor the Center for Nonprofit Management receives any money for supporting and overseeing Giving Day.

Participating nonprofits will receive a list of donors and the contact information, unless the donor requested to remain anonymous. You are encouraged to thank donors for their generosity.  However, CFT will provide a gift substantiation/tax receipt to the donor. If the donor does not receive their email receipt, please encourage them to contact CFT directly at donorservices@cftexas.org, and we will provide another copy.

Communities Foundation of Texas will make every effort to get final numbers and information to each nonprofit about the amount of funds raised, matching funds and who donated to their organization as soon as possible following Giving Day.  At minimum, we will provide the results within four weeks of Giving Day. However, we understand the importance of having this information provided to you in a timely manner.

If you have additional questions, please check the general DonorBridge FAQ. If your question is not answered there, please call Katy Spicer at the Center for Nonprofit Management at 214-826-3470 or email spicer@cnmdallas.org.
